Editorial Board Regulations

Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of these regulations is to prescribe the composition and operation of the Editorial Board of the Korean Academy of Space Security (KASS) (hereinafter referred to as the “Board”), as well as matters concerning the editing of journals and publications and the review of submitted papers.

 

Article 2 (Responsibilities) The Board shall deliberate on matters related to the editing and peer review of the journals, proceedings, and other publications of KASS.

 

Article 3 (Composition of the Board)

1. The Board shall consist of one Chair, one Vice Chair, and no more than twenty (20) members.

2. The Chair and Vice Chair shall be appointed by the President of KASS following approval by the Board of Directors.

3. Members of the Board shall be appointed by the President of KASS upon recommendation of the Chair in accordance with the selection criteria. The Editorial Director shall serve as an ex officio member.

 

Article 4 (Duties of the Members)

1. The Chair shall represent the Board and oversee all editorial affairs of the journal.

2. The Vice Chair shall assist the Chair and shall perform the duties of the Chair in the event of the Chair’s absence or incapacity.

 

Article 5 (Selection Criteria for Members) Board members shall be selected from among members of KASS who demonstrate active academic engagement and professional expertise in the fields of space security and related areas of research. Specific criteria shall be determined by the Board.

 

Article 6 (Term of Office)

1. The term of office for the Board shall be two (2) years, commencing on January 1 of the first year and ending on December 31 of the following year.

2. Members may be reappointed.

 

Article 7 (Convening and Resolution) The Board shall be convened by the Chair as necessary. Resolutions shall require the attendance of a majority of the members and the approval of a majority of those present.
