About This Journal

Aims and scope

The Journal of Space Security (JOSS) is an international academic journal dedicated to advancing research and policy discussions on Space Security. It is launched in 2023 as a key initiative of the Korean Space Security Society (KASS), which aims to establish a collaborative platform for the integration of government, industry, academia, and research institutions. KASS envisions positioning the Society as a global leader in the field of space security, contributing to both the technological and strategic development of space security policies.

JOSS will play a key role in realizing this vision by publishing high-quality research that addresses the economic and security challenges posed by the space domain. Given the intense global competition and the complex interplay of national interests in space, JOSS seeks to foster collaboration among global experts and offers concrete policies and strategies for securing a strategic advantage in space.
